Spark-free Entropy Alloys

Spark-free Entropy Alloys

EM-12502

EM-12502 is a beryllium-free, lead-free, non-toxic high-strength copper-rich alloy with hardness exceeding HRC32. It offers excellent low density, high tensile strength, non-sparking, non-magnetic, corrosion and oxidation resistance. Unlike beryllium copper, it poses no risk of lung cancer, chronic beryllium disease (CBD), or environmental toxicity. In line with OSHA’s 2020 beryllium exposure standard (≤0.2 µg/m³), EM-12502 provides a green, health-conscious alternative for tools and components across refining, casting, and industrial use.

Material Features

Compared to beryllium copper alloy, which is classified as a Class 1 carcinogen by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) and poses a threat to human health and environmental pollution, the spark-free entropy alloy EM-12502 does not contain beryllium (Be) at all. It will not cause harm to the human body or the environment during production, processing, use and storage. It is a green product that can be used safely and conscientiously. On the other hand, the manufacturing process and use of beryllium copper alloy are toxic and do not conform to the concept of sustainable development.

RoHS 2.0 limits the toxic lead content of general material products to less than 0.1%, while the spark-free entropy alloy EM-12502 does not contain lead at all and is a new generation of high-performance copper alloy that meets the world’s environmental protection requirements.

Spark-free entropy alloy EM-12502 is a patented formula developed using the latest high entropy alloy concept. It has a high hardness higher than HRC 32 and a high strength of more than 1000 MPa. It is the best choice for high hardness and high strength applications.

Entropy alloy EM-12502 can be used in spark-free safety tools and components in areas containing gasoline, dust, solvents, and gas; it can be used in non-magnetic precision environments to avoid magnetic field interference.
